Windows boots fine, but using either Desktop or Failsafe entries in the Grub menu eventually shows a big, grey, raised box with “Welcome at linus-mg1a” in the top half and Login: + textbox in the lower half, with an embossed, grey chameleon over the embossed, grey text “openSUSE” below.
At the same time a small window opens down at the left with “Console log for linux-mg1a” and a bunch of error messages.
