11.2 updated - why zypper dup wants to update everything?

I have upgrade from 11.1 to 11.2 using the downloaded DVD image, and everything works. I would now think that I keep the system “fresh” by regularly doing “zypper dup” (the repository list is clean and in good order).

But zypper wants to replace everything again, and also downgrade some stuff, so I aborted it before even starting.

Why is this? Should I use zypper dup nevertheless and allow it to do what it wants to do?

Zypper dup (distribution upgrade) is meant to upgrade the entire distribution and thus uses a different algorithm to calculate the dependencies, please use zypper up (update) to keep your system up-to-date.

Only use dup to move between different distribution versions.
