11.2 RC1: Where's my mail?

Managed to keep RC1 running for most of the day. However, I received no mail
during that time through Kmail. Manual request turned up nothing either.
Rebooted to 11.1 and, lo and behold, got about twenty messages - not
counting spam. I’ll try this again but, in the meantime, has anyone else
seen this problem?

That sounds weird :-?

You can perform some test under RC1 before going to bugzilla

1/ Test the same account with another e-mail client (i.e., thunderbird) to
see if you are experiencing the same behavior. That way you’ll discard an
e-mail client problem.

2/ Issue a fast “telnet” session to talk with server’s port 110 to check if
the e-mail is there.

3/ Test kmail with another connection (is was it pop3 -> test with an imap
account or viceversa).

4/ Perform a simple test with local mail delivery and see what happens.

You think that’s weird?

Murphy’s Law has struck today and the 11.2 system on my main machine has
decided to crash Kontact every time I use it. The trouble is that Kontact
only works when the graphics system is misbehaving badly, as it was all
yesterday, and it’s now only misbehaving a little. Weird enough?

My spare machine doesn’t have these problems - different graphics card - so
I’ll see how mail works on that. I expect I’ll have no trouble at all.

Thanks for the help. I’ll keep a note of your suggestions and will try them
out when - and if - I get a chance.
