11.2 no longer wants to update, via the applet or yast

and it cannot find software on the opensuse one-ckick site either.

i’m puzzled.

i get this message from the applet:

vPackageKit Error repo-not-available: File ‘/content’ not found on medium ‘http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/11.2:/NonFree/standard/

yast tells me the same thing for every repo one by one.

and the opensuse software search page just springs a firefox error:

Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at software.opensuse.org.

my system:
lenovo s10e
11.2 kde live CD
added the broadcom wlan package from packman
installed amarok and the codec pack via one-click links

what is going on?

regards

Open a terminal become su

and do this:

zypper lu

tell me the result

Search
Repository error - openSUSE Forums

zypper lu

File ‘/content’ not found on medium ‘http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/11.2:/NonFree/standard/

this is the result.

Can you browse the internet OK?

Have the repo’s worked previously or is this a new install

after deleting and readding my repos i get the fokllowing when i try and install digikam 1.0 via one-click:

application locked by pid 9230

how did this mess happen without me doing anything?

internet works fine, talking from the netbook now.

installed new digikam and codec pack fine, and installed updates previously.

not used the netbook for a month or so, its a travel toy, and now all of a sudden its borked. :frowning:

Application locked just means there’s another instance of an updater running - if the updater applet is running, you can’t open YaST software management, for example, for understandable reasons. Most errors of the ‘content’ kind have been transitory, in my experience. You could try a different mirror if you’re desperate, but I wouldn’t worry about it unless it lasts several days. although I admit that it’s suspicious that it happens with every repo)
