11.2-m3, KDE4.2.95: There's a kind of hush.

Since updating to KDE4.3 RC1, silence has descended upon my PCs. No audio
from Flash and no system noises. I’ve un-muted all that should be un-muted
but nothing can be heard but the song of a bird - and that’s coming from my
garden.

Did you check Yast>Hardware>Sound>Other>Volume? Everytime I update a Milestone now, it seems to get zeroed. I’m assuming your Kmix is not muted in the system tray.

Tried boosting those that were 0 to 100 but no effect. I’ve got used with
11.2 to resetting kmix to be un-muted after every boot.

That’s two machines with no sound. One has nVidia MCP61 HDA, the other an
nVidia nForce2 AC97. On one machine, I made a clean install of m3 but on the
other I was feeling lazy so just updated m2 to m3.

I’ve had no sound problems since I replaced pulseaudio with esound. If you have pulse try it without (leave libpulse0).
