11.2 install Menu bar missing

I made a new install 1102 from a 11.1 system. No update because it didn’t work.
I have now a kde desktop but I cant boot normally. I have to boot threw failsafe and here, my desktop screen is cutted in bottom. The menu bar is only 2 mm high
What could be wrong ?

Why could you not update? What went wrong?

Why can’t you boot normally? What happens then?

Have a look in /var/log/messages. Any severe error messages?

Any error messages in /var/log/Xorg.0.log?

What’s your hardware?

We need more information to help you.

I already posted another thread for that.
Just used the repository way, as advised and then suddenly aborted while installing new packages.
That’s why I made a new install.
If I boot normally, the system boots untill I can hear the small music once it is complete loaded but there is is no screen. Just black with the mouse.
I have xorg.o.log but is quite long. There is a problem with the screen. I post a digest:

I have radeon video card that was drived by vesa driver under 11.1.
Is there any update I should do ?
And by the way, I also tried to install threw the Lice kde cd but couldn’t boot up with same screen problem.

Oh, an ATI video card.
Appearently there are issues with ATI and OpenSuSE 11.2. (In my personal opinon there has always been issues with ATI and Linux.) Have a look at this thread:
About Ati Radeon not working on opensuse 11.2 and compiz - openSUSE Forums

Can you temporarily remove the ATI card and boot up using the internal graphics of the motherboard? Just to see if the problem still remains.

I am using vesa driver and no third party (ati) drivers.
11.1 could use my agp card without problem and 11.2 could not?
I think there is a special section in the kernel for agp. Is the new kernel able to manage this too?

It seems that I 2 differents problems ?
I read another thread where stands clearly that the install of 11.2 mixes ati and radeon and or vesa.
I followed the advices and forced vesa.My system boots now from normal mode up.
Bur the problem with the menu bar still remains.
Any god advice?

Try resetting the plasma workspace, remove or rename
plasma-appletsrc
plasmarc

From the ~/.kde/share/config folder (might be .kde4 instead of .kde, not sure)

Perhaps its Plasma instead of the drivers. If not SaX allows you to configure an offset I think.

I found the bug.
The autosizing of the bar is wrong. I have got to reduce the length and now my bar is ok. But if I dimention it to the screen size, le same bug appears again.
Thank you
