After the Yast Configuration screens and VM start up, i get the error Message “No Kernel found, the installation might fail”.
Neighter DVD or URL Source will work. In 10.3 with 32Bit there is no Problem … Full Virtualization works fine.
I use a plain 64-Bit SuSE 11.2 Install. Can someone help or give a hint?
Peter
Sorry for the above post. The thread “OpenSUSE 11.2 crash as Xen-domU” discussed exactly whats happened to me. I think it is a problem in Vm-install and the Distribution DVD?!
Regards,
Peter
Hi peter
I can confirm it fails for me too. I also tried dirinstall, which also fails, could be that vm-install calls disrinstall. If so the cause is the same but I don’t know for sure. I also tried to get an hd image set up by suse studio and bring that to live: in vain. A brave man seems to have gotten it to work, see this link (in German):
XEN und OpenSuSE 11.2 « Blog – WapplerSystems [Aachen]
He basically states, he could get it to work when copying the vmlinuz-xen and initrd-xen and use these. It is not totally clear, if only for domU or also for dom0. I tried to use them for domU and failed.
I believe, xen 11.2 with kernel 2.6.31.8-0.1 or 2.6.31.5xxx is broken.
I am now trying the kernel of the day (kotd). If successful I post it here, meaning no post no success.
