Ah. That would be interesting. I have done this under Windows but there’s
no compositing stuff to deal with and it was with a Matrox card. If I get a
chance I’ll tinker with it. Sometime you can make things dance with a little
xorg.conf trickery.
I’ve done it under Windows too, it’s as easy as ticking a few boxes in the NVIDIA utility. The impossibility of doing it in Linux has made me abandon my pivoting second display and buy a larger main one instead, but if you can get it to work (or, only slightly more likely, NVIDIA get round to full XRandR support) I’ll happily reconnect it!
