[11.2] Disable uhci - driver to prevent cpu-whining

Hi there,

with openSuSE 11.1 i could simply “rmmod uhci_hcd” to stop the cpu from whining (when changing in and off the c4-state caused by wakeups from the uhci-host-driver).

After installing 11.2, i recognized, that uhci_hcd is not compiled as module anymore but integrated into the kernel. Is there a way, to disable this driver with the same effect like unloading it in openSuSE 11.1 ?

Regards, pepun

Ok,

just to end this thread: With openSuSE 11.3 i changed to “kernel-default” in which “uhci_hcd” is compiled as module. So i can unload it again.
