The road to fully tested software is a lonely one indeed…
Has anyone tried this? If I attempt it in YaST user / group management in KDE 4.3 it seems to freeze forever at ‘writing password’. I can xkill the window, and have a half created user (e.g. they appear on the login screen, and have a folder in home. Haven’t been brave enough to try logging in with them yet though…)
If I do it in runlevel 3, it freezes at the same point. If I then switch to another virtual terminal, and switch back, the words
tapio: no process found
have been superimposed over YaST. This is the first error message I’ve ever seen that’s so cryptic it returns a blank in google.
Using a USB hard drive - might be significant.
Any ideas?
