11.2 Can see wireless wont connect

I can see my wireless networks but when i go to click on it to connect it does nothing, it is like there is nothing to click. Any ideas?

lspci | grep Network
00:19.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection (rev 03)
0c:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 5300 AGN [Shiloh] Network Connection

lspci -n | grep 0c:00.0
0c:00.0 0280: 8086:4235

Did you add the connection using the applet’s “Manage Connections” option?

Does the command

sudo /usr/sbin/iwlist scan

show your network?

i have the exact same problem 9 (im new to linux)
my wireless usb adapter is working because it detects the networks around my area, but when i click on connect and enter the correct password, nothing happens.
i am 100% sure that my password is correct
on the lower right corner it has a green check mark next to my connection, but when i open firefox, it is still not connecting

Check the type of wep key. On mine i have to change it to Shared under KInternet. What version and desktops are you running?

i am running 11.2 kde its a live cd
but i want to see if i can get my hardware to work before installing

Ok, if you are using KInternet, you need to dial into you wireless adapter i would assume that is wlan0. After that check wireless connections and choose you acess point. When it asks for a WEP key input your wep key and try changing the type to shared. That’s what i need to do every time i try to go online after a reboot or power down.

ok ill try that
so opensuse does not have the option to save the password? (mine is wpa2)

Network-Manager-KDE4 is broken. This post contains an update to test. The bugzilla reference is at the bottom.

Just had an update to NetworkManager-KDE4 in update repo.
