11.11b3 BCM4312 HP550

controller is a BCM4312 802.11b/g Rev.01

I ran /usr/sbin/install_bcm43xx_firmware successfully (echo $? = 0 and bc dirs created.

after executin modprobe -v b43legacy I find in /var/log messages:

…] kerner : Broadcom 43xx-legacy driver loaded Features: PLRID, Firmware-ID FW10]

lspci -v shows the driver
but neither hwinfo, nor iwconfig nor Yast shows anything.

I ran out of ideas…

Can anybody hep?

Thanks

Your interface needs b43, NOT b43legacy. What does ‘dmesg | grep b43’ show?

Larry

Thanks for your help!

I tried both b43 and b43legacy: identical results.
I see the driver in /var/log/messages but not in iwconfig

You probably do not have the firmware available, which is why I asked you to
provide the output of ‘dmesg | grep b43’.

Why cannot people read???
