11.1-0 64 bit first impressions

After having lots of trouble installing and running the Beta and RC1 versions (installtion 4 hours, CPU only ran at idle speed, fan running at full speed…) it was a pleasant suprise to just install and use 11.1. The wifi didn’t work initially,same problem as with 11.0, but thanks to iwfinger’s guide in this forums network section it works now.

KDE 4 seems stable. I am using the Mesa graphics driver (installed as default) instead of using the ATI drver, and it also seems ok. DVBT is running using Kaffeine, the automatic channel scan was slow and kept freezing.

good to hear your enjoying your opensuse 11.1
i’m also running OS 11.1 64 bit for the first time always ran 32 bit and haven’t had any problems yet not even flash in firefox
and i am also using the mesa driver by default with kde 4.2 and have all the effects i like running without any problems
