probably time to install 11.2 which is the most current version and
will age out in a little over a year, on about 12 May 2011
if you don’t like the short cycle (who does?) you should consider the
much longer support offered by one of th SUSE Linux Enterprise
offerings of Novell.com, or jump ship…

ps: i don’t work for Novell and receive not one part of a penny if you
purchase…
It’s faster and more convenient than a traditional upgrade since it is just a matter of installing updates after configuring the repos. The downside is that it is a bit riskier than a traditional upgrade, so I would make sure to back up your home directory and any other precious configurations you have. The good news is that these live upgrades are officially supported from 11.2 on.
P.S. Even the “supported” dist upgrade can be a bit tricky (i.e. don’t do what I did by attempting it via SSH with only an hour before having to leave somewhere)
Yes, I knew that 10.3 was no longer supported and I know I have had no more sec updates for a few months but I somehow hoped that at least the old stuff would still be available regardless.
I mean, how much disc does it need anyhow?
Oh well. 11.2 will have to wait and I will see if I can get the isa stuff elsewhere.
