0 B removable device shows up in device manager in 12.3 KDE 4.10

I’ve just upgraded my 12.2 system to 12.3 with KDE 4.10. For some reason, a phantom 0 B removable device appears both in device manager and in the device list on dolphin. Attempting to open it results in an error message stating that the location is empty. Furthermore, when mousing over the device notifier, I get a little panel saying that no devices are available, despite there being a removable USB hard drive attached which shows up in device manager and is mountable there. When I look at the devices on KDiskfree, I do find one 0 byte device, debugfs, mounted at /sys/kernel/debug. Other than that, there is nothing else that fits the bill.

I would like to get rid of the spurious device, if only for aesthetic reasons. Is this a normal problem?

Have you has time to update your system yet? Searching around for similar reported issues, I found the following

possibly down to udisks2 bugs.

Thanks, I have upgraded, and the popup message does correctly indicate I have devices. I got rid of the 0B disk by going into BIOS and correctly indicating there are no floppies - not pretty, but it worked. Thanks.

Good to hear. Thanks for the update.
