    Question Leap : Steam does not work anymore after an update

    Hi !

    I performed an update of OpenSUSE (latest stable version, minor update). I launched Steam. Steam performed an update itself. Now I have this issue :

    Code:
    steam:6981): Gtk-WARNING **: 14:58:20.267: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "adwaita",
    /usr/share/themes/Adwaita/gtk-2.0/main.rc:733: error: unexpected identifier 'direction', expected character '}'

    Hello Arnaudk93, do you have a Nvidia card and you got an update for the Nvidia drivers from the Nvidia repository?

    If so, you need to add the new 3 32bit packages manually. In my case:

    Code:
    nvidia-computeG05-32bit-470.129.06-lp153.50.1.x86_64
    x11-video-nvidiaG05-32bit-470.129.06-lp153.50.1.x86_64
    nvidia-glG05-32bit-470.129.06-lp153.50.1.x86_64
    Reason:
    Code:
    Wed Apr 27 16:22:24 UTC 2022 - Stefan Dirsch <sndirsch@suse.com>
    - splitted off packages for 32bit libs (JIRA#PM-3447)
      * x11-video-nvidiaG05-32bit (VDPAU, ...)
      * nvidia-computeG05-32bit (OpenCL, libcuda, ...)
      * nvidia-glG05-32bit (EGL, GLESv1, GLESv2, GLX, ...)
    After the driver update I got this with steam:

    Code:
    libGL error: No matching fbConfigs or visuals found
    libGL error: failed to load driver: swrast
    Steam: An X Error occurred
    X Error of failed request: GLXBadContext
    Major opcode of failed request: 151
    Serial number of failed request: 50
    xerror_handler: X failed, continuing
    Steam: An X Error occurred
    Fixed with new releases:
    Code:
    Mon May 23 12:38:02 UTC 2022 - Stefan Dirsch <sndirsch@suse.com>
    - recommend 32bit library packages alongside their 64bit versions

    I've had the same problem for a few days now. I use it as a zero hassle way of running the latest stable version of Blender, but I haven't been able to get steam to even finish trying to update itself since the NVidia driver update. Usually when something like this happens, a fix gets pushed through the repos pretty quickly, but I'm starting to think that maybe I missed a bit of information from somewhere, telling me to install an additional package which was added to the repos recently. I heard NVidia began a slow, staged process of integrating their drivers into the Kernel so, without knowing anything else, my guess would be that maybe they've split it into smaller pieces, one or two of which I might be missing?

    Blender did work here also without the 32bit packages, because Blender is a 64-bit application. Steam is still a 32-bit application, therefore adding the 3 32bit packages should fix your problem.

    Yeah, thanks for the help about installing the 32 bit packages. I must have still been typing out my post when you posted yours. I noticed that there's a G06 driver in the repos that I somehow missed, too. I've been running the G05s since 15.3 was released.
