    Hi
It is, via mirrorbrain, or use mirrorcache mirrors...

The SLE Update repo used to hang occasionally. Now it seems to be almost daily, In the mornings.

I have 500 Mb fiber internet. Current Speed Test shows 490 Mb actual. All web sites load immediately.

My 3 PCs are all 1Gb ethernet connected to the router

Yet Refreshing that repo took about 5 minutes. Then when I clicked "Accept" to download the updates
it displayed the update package name, than just sat there. No progress. I aborted out of the download after
10 minutes, and still zero progress on the download.

My experience has been to Not do updates in the mornings CDT U.S., wait till after Noon CDT U.S., then that repo Usually works OK.

The other repos still work fine when this happens. Just the SLE repo has issues.

One time I let it run for 30 minutes trying to Refresh that repo, then I Aborted due to no progress.
This has been going on for some weeks now.

    Hi
Yes, it's likely applying updates as delta rpms, like I always tell folks, add -vvv so can see what it's doing, disable the delta rpm feature if not worried about bandwidth?

    Default Re: Slow Repo

I have found that having "https" rather than just "http" makes a significant improvement in ref times even for the Update repo from SUSE Linux Enterprise. I saw a note in this thread regarding use of https and it has made a difference. For a reason, I can't explain, 4 or 5 repos had only "http" in the url. I assume these urls had been this way since last fresh install about 6 months ago. Maybe the install media on dvd does not put https in the urls it defines.

As of now, the long update time issue has gone away.
