Hi
Just uninstall suse-prime and it's config files if the don't remove, reboot, then see if offload works without it. If all ok, then add that intel file if the issue of tearing is still there.

Uninstalled suse-prime and its configuration files are removed from /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d.
After reboot the screen glitches don't show any more! Nice! But 3D applications seem to have a problem now: glxgears does a core dump; also the KDE systemsettings app crashes.

With intel or offload? Alas I'm a GNOME user, perhaps start a new thread

With intel:
Code:
zbook:~> glxinfo | grep "OpenGL renderer"
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa Intel(R) UHD Graphics (TGL GT1)
zbook:~> glxgears
Running synchronized to the vertical refresh. The framerate should be
approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate.

With nvidia it runs sometimes. Seems something strange happens with refresh rate..
Code:
__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD_PROVIDER=NVIDIA-G0 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia glxgears
Running synchronized to the vertical refresh. The framerate should be
approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate.

De KDE systemsettings app can do some screen settings. Maybe it's related to the glxgears problem.

Strange thing is that glxgears sometimes runs normally, sometimes not...

Shouldn't glxgears just run fine with intel?

Hi
It should, but with new hardware it may need a bug report since some features have been backported, what about other applications your wanting to run, blender, minecraft etc?

Re: HP Zbook 17.3 fury G8 - video and audio issues
Tiger Lake was released right around the time version freeze occurred for 15.3. Because it was so new it may not have gotten enough testing in Optimus configuration and needs a bug reported.
