Scroll wiel Logitech M500 werkt niet.

Hallo,

Mijn oude Logitech muis was aan vervanging toe, dus heb ik dezelfde muis (de Logitech M500) weer gekocht.
De muis werkt, alleen het scroll wiel niet.
En da's vreemd want met de oude muis van hetzelfde type werkte dit wel.

In het "YaST configuratiecentrum" (KDE) zouden de instellingen voor de muis toch bij "Hardware" moeten staan.
Maar daar staat geen link/pictogram om de muis in te stellen.

Bij "Systeeminstellingen" Is bij "Hardware" en "Invoerapparaten" wel een "Muis" link/pictogram te vinden.
Alleen kunnen daar geen instellingen v.w.b. het scroll wiel gemaakt worden.

Waarschijnlijk is de oorzaak een vastgelopen computer, een paar dagen geleden.
Niets werkte meer en alleen met een harde reset kon ik weer verder.

Wie weet hoe ik dit probleem op kan lossen ?

Kan je eens met "lsusb" de vendor:product ID van de muis opzoeken de output van "lsusb -v -d vendor:product" van de oude muis met die van de nieuwe muis vergelijken? Enige verschillen?

Heb je de nieuwe muis ook al op een andere machine geprobeerd? Misschien is de muis wel kapot...

Volgens mij wordt er bij een muis vanuit gegaan: 3 knopen en een scrollwheel.
Daar valt dus niet zoveel aan te configureren. Niet of systeemniveau (YaST). Of gebruikers (GUI niveau), die dingen die je daar ziet (links-rechts verwisselen en iets met timers).

Nog nooit meegemaakt dat zoiets triviaals als een muis (zeker Logitec) niet zou werken. Behalve als hij stuk is

Bij mij werkt de middelknop op dit moment niet (de scroll wel). Maar dat is slijtage (al die copy/pastes).

Dus ja, net als Marel denk ik aan een mogelijk stukke muis (zielig). Een beetje vervelend als hij net uit de verpakking komt.

Dus poberen op een ander systeem (desnoods de Windows van de buren

).

Hallo,

Het commando "lsusb" geeft een lijst met apparaten.

De bewuste muis staat als volgt in die lijst.
Bus 001 Device 012: ID 046d:c069 Logitech, Inc. M-U0007 [Corded Mouse M500]

Ik neem aan dat ik dan het commando "lsusb -v -d vendor:046d:c069" moet gebruiken ?
Dat commando geeft helaas geen enkele informatie.
Maar ik heb het vermoeden dat ik dat commando niet goed gebruik.

Maar wel graag alle computer uitvoer tussen CODE labels! Dat is de knop met het # bovenaan je edit ruimte. En dan copy/paste daartussen. En uiteraard met de commandoregel, zodat wij kunt controleren wat je doet (wij geloven niemand).

Die laptop is nu even niet beschikbaar.

De muis werkt op beide PC's alleen het scrollwiel helaas niet.

De oude muis van hetzelfde type (Logitech M500) werkt helemaal niet meer.

Ik heb een simpele muis (Logitech M90) op beide computers aangesloten.
De muis wordt vreemd genoeg herkend als een Logitech M105.
Alles werkt, ook het scrollwiel.

De Logitech M90 op de desktop.

Wel vreemd dat een spik splinternieuwe muis het op beide computers niet volledig (scroll wiel) doet.
De kans dat de muis defect is acht ik niet zo groot.
De muis wordt wel herkend, ik vermoed dat de muis niet goed door linux wordt ingesteld.

Hebben jullie nog ideen waar dit aan kan liggen ?

Even je eerste twee dumps gedifft maar precies hetzelfde zoals verwacht, maar op op Mint doet de scrollfunctie het niet dus brengt je niet verder.

Wat ik zou doen is "xev" installeren "sudo zypper install xev" en dan runnen.

Je zou dan een wit window moet zien verschijnen en als je daar je muis point in beweegt wordt alles wat X van je muis ontvangt geprint. Gebeurd er iets als je aan het scroll wheel draait?

Als dit (ook) niet het geval is dan zou ik met de muis voor garantie terug gaan.
