I have installed cinnamon in a Leap 15.3 VM via Yast but i rarely used it so far. All cinnamon settings are still default. If i start nemo and choose open as root from a folder context menu and enter the root password a new window with with the folder content and root permission is opened. In the journal i see then something like this:

    Code:
    ..
    Oct 25 22:43:42 localhost.localdomain pkexec[18909]: rolf: Executing command [USER=root] [TTY=unknown] [CWD=/home/rolf] [COMMAND=/usr/bin/nemo /bin]
    ..
    The installed versions are:
    Code:
localhost:~ # zypper info cinnamon nemo
    Loading repository data...
    Reading installed packages...

    many thanks for your replay
1- i use one click install.
2- when you install opensuse it self what you choose (kde plasma, gnome, generic) in my case i choose "generic desktop)?

in case you also choose generic desktop during installation, so the only different will be the installation way.

My installation was kde and later i installed cinnamon pattern via yast. I think this problem could be related to PolicyKit. I have never done a generic desktop install so i am not sure if PolicyKit is installed by default. You can check that with
    Code:
    zypper se -s polkit
If so you could check the journal if it contains error messages from polkitd or dbus-daemon that are related to nemo.

    1- it's installed by default.
2- in journal (using yast to see it), polkitd say it successfully authenticated. nothing about dbus-daemon.

3- depend on what i find from search, "open as root" is action. the directory of actions on my machine is empty: /home/mk/.local/share/nemo/actions , can you please check directory of actions on your machine. in case it different the simple way to find it by open any folder and press "alt+p", or from edit menu > plugins
and same for script directory: /home/mk/.local/share/nemo/scripts

    thanks in advance

Both directories in ~/.local/share/nemo/ are empty.

Fyi in a new desktop generic Leap 15.3 installation with current updates you can install cinnamon via zypper with:
    Code:
    # zypper in -t pattern cinnamon
    Log of cinnamon install https://susepaste.org/36556764.
Nemo open as root works with no problem as you can see here https://susepaste.org/75280868.
It seems to me that your problem might caused by the "one click install". What URL did you use for the one click install ?

many thanks i will remove cinnamon using this command "zypper rm -u cinnamon", then i will try install it again using zypper.

i do not save the one click link, but it was from software.opensuse.
