Biber on OpenSUSE 15.3

Just installed biber using zypper, all goes well as far as installation. When you run biber however, it simply returns “No biber available due to old perl installation”. The biber script at /usr/bin/biber simply echos this to the terminal.
Does anybody know what’s going on?

Welcome to the forums

Where from? Could you show us your configured repositories.

zypper lr -d

It requires a later version of perl than you currently have installed.

Turns out my Publishing_Texlive repo was configured for the Leap 15.2. I’ve now changed it to 15.3 and am updating.

Fixed. Had to disable the Publishing_Texlive repo and perform a vendor change to the standard OSS repo. Texlive wasn’t in the OSS repo during 15.3 RC IIRC. Anyways, thanks for your help.

OK - Thanks for the update, glad you’ve sorted it.

Thanks for helping. I also have the same case.
