Error on creating a VM with virtManager

I don't think most people intend to hijack a Forum thread,
But it's advisable to be safe than sorry and create your own thread unless you can be absolutely sure.

In this case,
The error thrown and posted in the first post is very different than what you posted.

I can confirm the following situation on latest x68_64 snapshot:

- Fresh installation of tumbleweed
- installed kvm/kvm-tools via yast
- added user to the libvirt group
- all settings are default

When installing a guest via virt-manager, the creation of the guest fails immediately with the error:

Unable to complete install: 'internal error: qemu unexpectedly closed the monitor'

The solution for me is to change Display Spice type to VNC-Server.
So was there already a bug submitted?

Probably not(I don't see a bug submitted related to QEMU and Spice as the keywords)..
Go ahead and submit your findings.

At least regarding this error configuring to use spice instead of VNC as the default connection protocol is not supposed to be default.

Hi TSU,

Just to clarify, you are saying that the VirtManager Setting "Display Spice" > Type: should be VNC instead of SPICE by default?

I think it would be clearest that tsu2 herself/himself installs host and guest with Yast defaults, so there would be no need to guess whether the fault is there or here or in the document or software or where.

Standard procedure is that the person who experienced the problem should report the problem so that person can provide logs, screenshots or any other details if requested.

I only hang around as someone who thinks he knows how things should work but when you submit a bug and the bug is assigned to someone to evaluate and fix, that person knows the real low down.
