    Default Remove snap

    Using XFCE.

    While experimenting with a new mail client called Mailspring I installed a utility called snap, something similar to zypper. Well Mailspring didn't work for me (bad display) and I removed it using snap. Now I would like to remove snap and snapd, but the only instructions I could find were for Ubuntu using apt. Is there anyone who might be able to help?

    Thanks in advance.

    How did you install? Normally one would use the same tools, etc. to undo what was done.

    Thank you for the quick answer. I used zypper. But I am concerned with the effect of...

    Code:
    sudo zypper dup --from snappy
    As I understand, it means my distribution was upgraded from a non-SUSE source. Couls this not be dangerous? How would I reverse that?

    Find installed packages from this repository and switch them to different vendor. If this is the only non-standard repository, just remove it and run "zypper dup --allow-vendor-change".

    Hello,

    Disable repo snappy.
    Then "zypper dup".

    Sorry, I did not understand you at all.

    You only talked about a product snappy and I thought it was in fact a package or similar.
    But it seems to be packages from a repository.

    But as said, when you would have told how you did it (adding a repository, etc.) one would not need the clairvoyance of @avidjaar.

    Well when I invoked that, none of the package names referred to snap so I am concerned that changing vendors on usual applications may create further problems.
    Code:
     The following 12 packages are going to change vendor:
      dvd+rw-tools                openSUSE -> obs://build.opensuse.org/multimedia
      kernel-firmware             openSUSE -> obs://build.opensuse.org/home:Sauerland
      libprojectM3                openSUSE -> obs://build.opensuse.org/multimedia
      libsuil-0-0                 openSUSE -> obs://build.opensuse.org/multimedia
      libzvbi0                    openSUSE -> obs://build.opensuse.org/multimedia
      moc                         openSUSE -> obs://build.opensuse.org/multimedia
      mpv-mpris                   openSUSE -> obs://build.opensuse.org/multimedia
      pulseaudio-equalizer        openSUSE -> obs://build.opensuse.org/multimedia
      smplayer                    openSUSE -> obs://build.opensuse.org/multimedia
      ucode-amd                   openSUSE -> obs://build.opensuse.org/home:Sauerland
      vorbis-tools                openSUSE -> obs://build.opensuse.org/multimedia
      youtube-dl-bash-completion  openSUSE -> http://packman.links2linux.de
    What do you suggest?

    If I understand right, "zypper dup --from snappy" means that you "dup" from snappy repository.
    Try like I said.

    Well "zypper dup" tells me there's nothing to do, so I think I'm fine.

    Thank you.

    You're welcome.
    But you had repo "snappy" disabled before "zypper dup", hadnt't you?
