    Code:
    # cat /proc/asound/cards

PulseAudio is not running, and you have PULSEAUDIO_SYSTEM set to yes in /etc/sysconfig/sound.
This is the setting you can change in YaST2 / Sound / Other / "PulseAudio Configuration".
If you don't intent to use PulseAudio, make sure this is off
Otherwise check if PulseAudio is running:

    Code:
    systemctl status pulseaudio
    Start and enable PulseAudio:

    Code:
    systemctl enable pulseaudio
    systemctl start pulseaudio

    Review the troubleshooting guide
    https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Audio_troubleshooting

FWIW, with openSUSE, PulseAudio status can be checked using...
    Code:
    sudo setup-pulseaudio --status
    Enable with
    Code:
    sudo setup-pulseaudio --enable
    and disable with
    Code:
    sudo setup-pulseaudio --disable
openSUSE Leap 15.2; KDE Plasma 5
