Look at number 22 an take dkms for installing the module.

sudo apt install git dkms
git clone https://github.com/aircrack-ng/rtl8812au.git
cd rtl8812au
sudo make dkms_install

I have done it as root (without sudo) on openSUSE Tumbleweed and used directory /usr/src for running git in.

5 GHz excellerates the speed enormous compared to the 2.4GHz build in the old Lenovo Yoga.
