need NVIDIA drivers in initrd?

Hi,

I have a server with an NVIDIA graphics card, which is mostly used as a GPU for computation. The server boots into runlevel 3 (multi-user).

Do I need to include the NVIDIA modules in the initrd?

I have them there at present (historic) but it would be better (rebuilt by DKMS) if they were not.

I believe you need the driver for computation
