    Lightbulb 64 bit updates in 32 bit laptop.

    Hi,

    I am getting 64 bit updates in 32 bit laptop.I have unselected them before update. Image here: https://ibb.co/87ffnD5

    They will be of no use even if I take them, right?

    I assume you only get uodates for packages that are installed. Thus the question might be: why are there 64-bit packages installed on a 32-bit system.

    Question Re: 64 bit updates in 32 bit laptop.

    So, how do you think it happened? I took the x86_64 DVD image (4.36 GB). Right from here: https://software.opensuse.org/distributions/tumbleweed

    Everything appears to be working fine.

    I agree with hcvv -- this should not happen.

    I do have one system here with 32-bit Tumbleweed. And I have not seen that occur.

    I just booted it up, started Yast Software Management, and went looking for libreoffice (since that is one of your 64 bit packages).

    Yast is only showing me the 32-bit package. Even when I go to the versions tab, it does not show me any 64-bit package.

    What's the output from:
    Code:
    uname -a
    openSUSE Leap 15.2; KDE Plasma 5.18.5;

    Output from uname -a:

    That takes us to a new question: why do you think this is a 32-bit system?

    This is 12 years old Compaq c700 laptop. 32bit - it cannot be anything else.

    13 years ago, I bought a new Dell computer. It came with Windows Vista 32-bit. But it was a 64-bit system.

    You have a 64-bit system - a 64-bit processor running a 64-bit kernel.
    openSUSE Leap 15.2; KDE Plasma 5.18.5;

    And my advice is: install those updates ASAP.
