    Default 3D Blender insall help

    Hello,
I am in the process of switching to OpenSUSE Tumbleweed and after installing the NVIDIA drivers, Blender, for some reason does not give me the option of selecting CUDA > GeForce GTX 1070.

If you are a Blender user then please let me know how I could install Blender other than downloading it from blender.org. I'd prefer to have it integrated into the OS so that I can update it via YAST in the future.
    Thanks for any pointers!

Hi and welcome to the Forum
Are you using the rpms or a manual install of driver/cuda?

    See this thread: https://forums.opensuse.org/showthre...hlight=blender
    Bug Report Ref: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1173733

You will see my details on both Leap 15.2 and Tumbleweed setups and blender working... note I don't use the nvidia cards for display in Tumbleweed just cuda cores.

    Thanks for the links!

I just installed OpenSUSE Tumbleweed on my main workstation.
The NVIDIA drivers (450 serires) installed fine > Reboot. So far, so good.

Installed Blender from the repo and no option to render with the GPU.
Downloaded Blender from blender.org, and yes, Cuda / GPU rendering is available.
Strange but for now, I can live with it. - LC
