nvidia hdmi monitor sound not restored on suspend - kde

If use the kde start menu, leave → sleep, it suspends the system. When I log back in, hdmi monitor sound is off the list of the sound icon in the system tray. I see the bell icon and it says ‘graphics were reset’. I have access to pav app.

hdmi sound / nvidia GP106 high definition audio controller digital stereo.

How do I fix it? help. I need to reboot in order to restore monitor sound.

New problem. The nvidia driver won’t start. Ignore this post.

The nvidia driver problem has been fixed. Again…

If I go into suspend mode, then return. The nvidia hdmi sound will not appear in system tray sound.

If I logout, then log in again. The sound resets and the hdmi sound returns.
