cpupower used to work under leap 15.1 and now it doesn't.
I did not upgrade from 15.1 to 15.2, I backed up my data and wiped the disk to install 15.2 as a fresh install. The cpu is an old AMD-A10
Now I get:
here's my inxiCode:$ cpupower frequency-info analyzing CPU 0: no or unknown cpufreq driver is active on this CPU CPUs which run at the same hardware frequency: Not Available CPUs which need to have their frequency coordinated by software: Not Available maximum transition latency: Cannot determine or is not supported. To me it looks like it's missing some driver, but I don't know what.Code:$ inxi -Fxxxz System: Kernel: 5.3.18-lp152.20.7-default x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 7.5.0 Desktop: KDE Plasma 5.18.5 tk: Qt 5.12.7 wm: kwin_x11 dm: SDDM Distro: openSUSE Leap 15.2 Machine: Type: Portable System: Dell product: Inspiron 5555 v: A12 serial: <filter> Chassis: type: 8 v: A12 serial: <filter> Mobo: Dell model: 0CHHXW v: A00 serial: <filter> UEFI [Legacy]: Dell v: A12 date: 08/30/2016 CPU: Topology: Quad Core model: AMD A10-8700P Radeon R6 10 Compute Cores 4C+6G bits: 64 type: MCP arch: Excavator rev: 1 L2 cache: 1024 KiB flags: avx avx2 lm nx pae sse sse2 sse3 sse4_1 sse4_2 sse4a ssse3 svm bogomips: 14372 Speed: 2526 MHz min/max: N/A Core speeds (MHz): 1: 2526 2: 2440 3: 2879 4: 2701 Graphics: Device-1: AMD Wani [Radeon R5/R6/R7 Graphics] vendor: Dell driver: amdgpu v: kernel bus ID: 00:01.0 chip ID: 1002:9874 Device-2: Sunplus Innovation type: USB driver: uvcvideo bus ID: 2-4:3 chip ID: 1bcf:2b90 Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.3 compositor: kwin_x11 driver: amdgpu, ati unloaded: fbdev, modesetting, vesa resolution: 1366x768~60Hz s-dpi: 96 OpenGL: renderer: AMD Radeon R6 Graphics (CARRIZO DRM 3.33.0 5.3.18-lp152.20.7-default LLVM 9.0.1) v: 4.5 Mesa 19.3.4 direct render: Yes Audio: Device-1: AMD Kabini HDMI/DP Audio vendor: Dell driver: snd_hda_intel v: kernel bus ID: 00:01.1 chip ID: 1002:9840 Device-2: AMD Family 15h Audio vendor: Dell driver: snd_hda_intel v: kernel bus ID: 00:09.2 chip ID: 1022:157a Sound Server: ALSA v: k5.3.18-lp152.20.7-default Network: Device-1: Realtek RTL810xE PCI Express Fast Ethernet vendor: Dell driver: r8169 v: kernel port: e000 bus ID: 01:00.0 chip ID: 10ec:8136 IF: eth0 state: down mac: <filter> Device-2: Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 / AR9565 Wireless Network Adapter vendor: Dell driver: ath9k v: kernel port: e000 bus ID: 02:00.0 chip ID: 168c:0036 IF: wlan0 state: up mac: <filter> Device-3: Qualcomm Atheros type: USB driver: btusb bus ID: 2-1:4 chip ID: 0cf3:e005 Drives: Local Storage: total: 931.51 GiB used: 51.30 GiB (5.5%) ID-1: /dev/sda vendor: Toshiba model: MQ01ABD100 size: 931.51 GiB speed: 6.0 Gb/s rotation: 5400 rpm serial: <filter> rev: 3D scheme: MBR Partition: ID-1: / size: 919.17 GiB used: 51.30 GiB (5.6%) fs: btrfs dev: /dev/sda1 ID-2: /home size: 919.17 GiB used: 51.30 GiB (5.6%) fs: btrfs dev: /dev/sda1 ID-3: /opt size: 919.17 GiB used: 51.30 GiB (5.6%) fs: btrfs dev: /dev/sda1 ID-4: /tmp size: 919.17 GiB used: 51.30 GiB (5.6%) fs: btrfs dev: /dev/sda1 ID-5: /var size: 919.17 GiB used: 51.30 GiB (5.6%) fs: btrfs dev: /dev/sda1 Swap: ID-1: swap-1 type: partition size: 12.34 GiB used: 0 KiB (0.0%) priority: -2 dev: /dev/sda2 Sensors: System Temperatures: cpu: 46.0 C mobo: 36.0 C sodimm: 29.0 C gpu: amdgpu temp: 46 C Fan Speeds (RPM): N/A Info: Processes: 208 Uptime: N/A Memory: 11.15 GiB used: 928.4 MiB (8.1%) Init: systemd v: 234 runlevel: 5 target: graphical.target Compilers: gcc: N/A Shell: bash v: 4.4.23 running in: konsole inxi: 3.1.00
I'd like to enable the performance governor
