security permissions issues - bash

Don't know.... chkstat is part of the permissions package (I only use SLE and openSUSE).

Looks like it's specific to openSuse. Unless there is a general package for any linux install, I can't use it.

Currently, I use only the packages: clamav and udisks2.

However, I can make my own version that operates from the same text file format.

It would be very useful and not to hard to make.

No, it's just a perl script.... run it on another system and see what happens....

Where is it located? I might be able to just convert it. However, it might be easier just to make it from scratch.

Also, I think the script has a bug. I had scanvirusa using the perl script and scanvirus with the original code. If I run both alternating between the two, it keeps changing permissions.

/usr/bin/chkstat

cnf chkstat
                         
Program 'chkstat' is present in package 'chkstat', which is installed on your system.

Absolute path to 'chkstat' is '/usr/bin/chkstat'. Please check your $PATH variable to see whether it contains the mentioned path.
