    Default Opensuse Leap 15.1

I get the below message when trying to install opensuse leap 15.1 on a lenovo e15

Your computer does not fulfill all requirements for a graphical installation. There is either less than 96MB memory or the X server could not be started. As fallback, the text front end of YAST2 will guide you through the installation. This front-end offers the same functionality as the graphical one,but the screens differ from those in the terminal.

    Hi,

you should provide more information about your system. If the installer complains about not enough memory this information is crucial for anyone to help. If it has enough memory but X server can't be started you should try to complete the installation and then try to resolve the issue with X server.

so I am trying to do a clean install of open suse 15.1 on a Lenovo(E15) Laptop with 512SSD and 16G memory. During the installation boot process I get that error saying not enough memory to start X server. what could the issue be?

There's a log file that you can inspect during installation, usually it's located under /var/log/YaST2/y2log. You can switch to a terminal with CTRL+ALT+F2 (or one of the other F-Keys) and take a look into that log. It's plenty of information but you might find a root cause. 16 GB of memory is more than enough.

Will the text front end of YAST2 start and allow you to install?

If the text front end of YAST2 starts you should try to install openSUSE Leap 15.1 and come back here when the installation does not work properly.

If the text front end of YAST2 does not start additional information about the graphics hardware of your Lenovo E15 is needed (one or two graphic cards, brand and type of the cards, ...).

Before resorting to text mode installation I suggest you try nomodeset.

https://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys...d_E15_Spec.PDF suggests to me your laptop may be too new to be supported by 15.1. I suggest if you can't get satisfactory results from trying nomodeset that you try 15.2beta or Tumbleweed.
