    Default 2.81 on opensuse - crashes when opening

    I installed 2.81 from the opensuse software manager.
    Everything installed fine, but it will not open.
    It tries to open but then crashes.
    are the files to help.
    Please let me know of any other information needed.

    All working fine here on GNOME/x11... can use cuda cores etc...

    Maybe add some debug options?

    This happened the last time I tried to install Blender as well. It was a year or more ago. After multiple tries we could not get it to work. The only solution was to download from Blender and set it up manually, opening the zipped file into a folder in my home directory and following the instructions at Blender.org. I was hoping the program manager route would work so as to set up the correct links, include it in the apps menu and simplify the updates via opensuse and zypp.

    All of that to say, the previous version, 2.79b is running on my computer, but I would like the update to be set via opensuse if possible. Hope that makes sense.

    So what GPU are you using? I think that's the way they like to test, use their (blender) builds and see if it crashes...

    I see a similar error code here and it's working not segfaulting....

    Test with the blender provided version and see if it duplicates, if it does it's an upstream issue, if it doesn't it's an openSUSE related issue.
