Default WHAT A PAIN TRYING TO RUN CLAM AV !

I supposed that I'm spoiled with GUI versions of CLAM AV for Ubuntu. I can't even get CLAM AV to tun properly with ROOT permissions in the ROOT TERMINAL. I'm using SUSE Tumbleweed with PLASMA desktop. How do you set this thing up?

Isn't YAST supposed to install this properly?

    I'm considering trying out BSD

There is a GUI for clamav. It's in the repos and it's called clamtk. I've never used it so I know nothing about it but it's there.

Basicaly I would say "Welcome to these forums" to a new poster. But the way you introduce yourself by expressing your frustration in the thread title is not promising.

I do not think many here see any use of running Clamav (or any other AV software). Thus it may be that you request for help will not produce many answers.

Also you may help others that try to help you by explaning what you did to set up/configure the tool.

    And BTW:
There is an important, but not easy to find feature on the forums.

Please in the future use CODE tags around copied/pasted computer text in a post. It is the # button in the tool bar of the post editor. When applicable copy/paste complete, that is including the prompt, the command, the output and the next prompt.

An example is here: Using CODE tags Around your paste.

I don't use this software, but a google of the error message "No supported database files found in /var/lib/clamav" provided the following link which might be helpful:
