This will take a lot of time I am afraid.
I'm beginning to think that the OP doesn't actually want to progress this. :/

Finally, the info as requested! It confirms the driver in use...
    Code:
    *cupsFilter: "application/vnd.cups-raster 0 /opt/epson-inkjet-printer-201113w/cups/lib/filter/epson_inkjet_printer_filter"
    *ModelName: "WP-4530 Series"
    *ShortNickName: "EPSON WP-4530"
You are using the full-featured driver.

FWIW, there is also a generic ESC/P-R driver available (epson-inkjet-printer-escpr-1.6.18-lp151.2.3.x86_64 package) which uses a different print filter (/usr/lib/cups/filter/epson-escpr-wrapper) that could be tried as an alternative.

Anyway, the next step is to put CUPS into debug-logging mode for more verbose output. Do that with
    Code:
    sudo cupsctl --debug-logging
    Then run
    Code:
    tail -f /var/log/cups/error_log|grep -iA4 "filter"
and try printing a document. Press CTRL+C to terminate. Copy the output and post back with the output please.

Did not as yet try the alternative driver. If I wish to do so, must I remove the existing driver, and if so, how?
The output of the commands you posted is long, ans is shown here:

Ok, the filters look to start ok, with no obvious errors in log the snippet provided, although I would have expected more output showing the other filters in the chain exited with no errors. Did you terminate the log too quickly perhaps?

In particular, there should have been output releating to /usr/lib/cups/filter/gstoraster (the next filter in the printing chain). Something like this...
    Code:
    D [10/Aug/2019:08:14:09 +1200] [Job 18] PID 2293 (/usr/lib/cups/filter/gstoraster) exited with no errors.

    I [10/Aug/2019:08:14:38 +1200] Saving subscriptions.conf...
    D [10/Aug/2019:08:14:38 +1200] cupsdSetBusyState: newbusy="Printing jobs", busy="Printing jobs and dirty files"
I assume that you have ghostscript installed?
    Code:
     rpm -qa|grep -i ghost

Did not as yet try the alternative driver. If I wish to do so, must I remove the existing driver, and if so, how?
Yes, you can install the other driver without having to remove any existing drivers.

Here's the Epson Linux drivers site...
    http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/se...search/?OSC=LX
Search 'WP-4530' and install the generic driver (epson-inkjet-printer-escpr-1.6.18-lp151.2.3.x86_64 package). You can either modify your existing CUPS configuration to use the new driver, or make a new printer configuration and choose the ESC/P-R driver.

I generally prefer to configure CUPS using it's localhost web-interface using a browser. To do that navigate to 'localhost:631, and from there either select 'Printers' to modify the existing config where you will then be able to change the driver, or 'Admin' to start a new configuration.

Bare in mind that both driver rely on using ghostscript, so if the problem is related to that, this won't resolve the issue.

It just seems strange to me that there wasn't any more output produced. Anyway, you can cancel any existing print jobs with
    Code:
    cancel -a
Also the error_log can get quite lengthy with previous job history and you can nuke that with
    Code:
    sudo rm -f /var/log/cups/error_log
Once CUPS is restarted it will be recreated again
    Code:
    sudo systemctl restart cups
Generate another print job, and perhaps examine the entire output. You can view the error_log with an editor if desired, upload the contents https://paste.opensuse.org/ and share the URL here so that others can advise further. This can also be done with the susepaste command if the susepaste package has been installed.

    Code:
    sudo zypper in susepaste
    Then run
    Code:
    ~> susepaste /var/log/cups/error_log
and you should get something like the following...
    Code:
    Pasted as:
       http://susepaste.org/70465944
       http://paste.opensuse.org/70465944
Link is also in your clipboard.

Here is the output of the command:

    Code:
     linux-4qnb:~ # rpm -qa|grep -i ghost
    ghostscript-fonts-std-9.06-10.6.noarch
    ghostscript-fonts-other-9.06-10.6.noarch
    ghostscript-9.27-2.4.x86_64
    ghostscript-x11-9.27-2.4.x86_64
    --doug
    That checks out as expected.

    Default Re: Epson 4530 printer

Hi Doug. I re-examined the error_log and found the following error which I missed earlier...

    Code:
    D [09/Aug/2019:15:07:11 -0400] [Job 48] PID 31887 (/opt/epson-inkjet-printer-201113w/cups/lib/filter/epson_inkjet_printer_filter) stopped with status 127 (File too large)
So we do have a definitive issue to resolve now. (In the meantime, you could try using the generic Epson driver if desired.)
