Default KDE - kate print preview corrupted

Using an HP ENVY 7858 - cups printer driver, I setup a colored xml document using the 'kate' app's print preview. I aligned the text to page boundaries, no page numbers or boarders. When I printed the document, the pages are offset and includes a header with a boarder and page numbers. Wasting lots of paper trying to figure this out.

I have to edit the document and then print to PDF. To see the correct layout. Then repeat until the document is aligned. Then print from the PDF copy.

Need help to fix this or another way to edit and print XML in color. Reporting this as bug.
