Gnome-Software Empty 20190708

Made a fresh install of build 20190708 and software is empty: No Application Data Found.

I was able to install dash-to-dock + Activities button and nothing else is shown, dead. Reinstall the RPM packages did not help, nor start it from terminal. Always have the same result, the database is dead, not responding. Nothing significant when searching the web for Tumbleweed.

Any idea on how to fix this issue?

To rebuild the rpm database:

sudo rpm --rebuilddb

If that doesn’t help, please show

zypper lr -d

Hi
So Packagekit is running? If you create a test user, does the problem duplicate?

Package updater works, the bug is the same on a second user account (standard or admin).

Unable to connect to .extensions.gnome.org

Always have this message:

Sorry, something went wrong: Download (curl) error for Goolge Chrome. If disable repo, then an error is for Kernel repo server. If disable Kernel repo, no more message.

Logout/login, the message comes back to non-oss repo. Must re-enable them to get dup to work.

Check for update in about is the same: No application data found. In looking for update the message says Software up-to-date

Rebuild rpm database cmd line did not help even after restart or logout.

Hi
So in chrome if you go to https://extensions.gnome.org does it ask you about installing the plugin? Is the package chrome-gnome-shell installed?

https://extensions.gnome.org/

Hi
What about those other repositories from your list, the chrome and kernel ones?

Should see a lot more data, eg the keys etc

This may have to do with the error I’m getting when starting Software.

Sorry, something went wrong:
Download (curl) for ‘http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/rpm/stable/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml’:

Still having this error from the link, even when Software is open from the terminal:

https://extensions.gnome.org/

We cannot detect a running copy of GNOME on this system, so some parts of the interface may be disabled. See our troubleshooting entry for more information.

Hi
Can you visit the extension site with Firefox, does it ask to install the integration addon?

Kernel repo not enabled, Chrome + repo were deleted in order to eliminate potential problems, but I get things worse. I now have a black screen when I start FF and Tor. Chrome Dev without its search engine (duuckduckgo) and Gnome were never a good thing here.

I’m able to install gnome-shell in Tor and FF

Not able to set Tor default, web browser list is not showing Tor. Not the case in KDE and Tor Alpha is always default in Windows (not dual boot).

Still have the same issue, (curl) startup error is now non-oss repodata/repomd.xml. Software catalog will download only with su and main page will be normal after. I can run an OS with such conditions: Tor is not our default browser + black screen on startup with FF and Tor. We will redo the fresh install without Chrome.

Hi
Well it’s a head scratcher for me… I don’t use tor or chrome. I think it might be best to report as a bug and see if it can be resolved.
