Thread: Installing taskjuggler

    Default Installing taskjuggler

I have a freshly installed Leap 15 with a KDE desktop.

I tried to install taskjuggler, but it wasn't in the repositories.

So I used the method mentioned here: http://taskjuggler.org/tj3/manual/In...e_Installation

    Code:
    gem install taskjuggler
It all seemed to go well. No error messages. But when I tried to run

    Code:
    tj3 project.tjp
    I was kindly informed:

    Code:
If 'tj3' is not a typo you can use command-not-found to lookup the package that contains it, like this:
        cnf tj3
which then gave the obvious answer:

    Code:
    tj3: command not found
I'm at a loss here. What went wrong?

Nothing, really - the command name is slightly different, it seems.

I just ran the gem install procedure, entered 'tj3' and hit tab to find
out that the executable you're looking for is 'tj3.ruby2.5'

Oh, I forgot about that command line trick. More useful than cnf in this case.

    Thanks.

No problem - glad I could help out.

(Had heard people talk about it before, and saw what it could do - then
saw they got rid of the UI in the 3.x series)
