Thread: QObject::startTimer message.

    Default QObject::startTimer message.

    This is a question where if there is no known solution, that won't surprise me as I suspect it will take the programmers who wrote the relevant code to know the full answer to this, however, here it goes...

    I have some code that spawns a bunch of parallel processes as follows:
    Code:
    konsole --new-tab --noclose -e "./includes/spawned.sh $1 $2 $3 $4 $5 $6 $7 $8 $9"
    Once all the processes have run I will close the window with all the tabs of the child/background processes that ran and for each tab, in my parent window where I initiated the script, I will get this error:
    QObject::startTimer: Timers can only be used with threads started with QThread
    I.e., if the parent script spawned 10 child processes then I will have 10 lines of that error message when I close the window with the 10 tabs of those child processes. The thing is the scripts runs perfectly so I am not really bothered by the error, except that the error is there at all. I can suppress the error by changing the line on the parent script to:
    Code:
    konsole --new-tab --noclose -e "./includes/spawned.sh $1 $2 $3 $4 $5 $6 $7 $8 $9" 2>/dev/null &
    but of course "hiding" error messages is not usually the best path.

    Anyway, like I said it all works so this is more of a curiosity to see if anyone has come across this and knows of a "proper" solution rather than I actually need to fix it.

    For coding questions, you'll likely get a better response in the Development forums, and in this case the "rogramming/Scripting sub-forum

    https://forums.opensuse.org/forumdis...97-Development

    Without knowing exactly what is invoked and how you did it in your script, I doubt anyone can answer your question.
