Default Flatpak continually asks for root password

I’m running Flatpak 0.11.7 from an OBS community repo. I wanted kdenlive which said it required flatpak version > 0.11 and the official repo version of flatpak is still at 0.10 or something. The machine has multiple users but only one user knows the root password. However since flatpaks seem to auto update, or at least check for updates, multiple times per day, the users get badgered with the admin user password dialogue box. I know I can install flatpaks per user which would stop this, but all users use kdenlive so multiple home installations is not practical. It seems this was an issue in tumbleweed but has been fixed https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1075384

Does anyone know the solution for Leap users?

No experience here with flatpak, but could it be your users have to be members of some flatpak group?

Why not run kdenlive from the distro? It's available ( at least ) from the Packman repo.

Good idea! But there doesn't seem to be a flatpak group:

Well, whilst the versions are similar, I get the dark theme from the flatpak version which I massively prefer. I use Gnome, apparently I get can get around this by installing Plasma themes or something but it seems like a process which could upset a few things. I also wanted to see what flatpak and snap were all about. So, far all flatpaks are working fine, but I had multiple issues with snaps and ended up disabling the snapd daemon and removing all snaps.

Kdenlive (from the repo, anyway) has a number of themes, including Breeze Dark, openSUSEdark and openSUSEdarkalternate. Maybe one of those will be acceptable?

Tks. I'm using Gnome. I assume you're on KDE?

Under Gnome, running the repo version of Kdenlive, the /Settings/Theme menu item is blank, so there's no option to install themes unless I indulge in some hackery to get Plasma Themes working in Gnome, as the post I linked to above shows. Using the Flatpak version however, I get the default list of themes.

I initially went a bit extreme and installed about 5 Flatpaks but have since reeled this into just Kdenlive and now the admin password dialogue box doesn't appear so often (which is odd, since I thought it was a daemon doing a general update). Also the users have got used to it. So, whilst it's annoying, it's not a show stopper.
