Do you still have the install ISO around? If so, mount that iso, and install the kernel-firmware from there,

I did snapper back and get it running again and then tried to redo the update. Same result. Now I will rollback to the previous kernel until a fix is hopefully found.

Any news on that bug fix?

My network wlan doesn't work after kernel-firmware update.
I had to lock the version of this package manually to further updates be made.

The latest kernel-firmware version available in the update repo is 20190118-lp150.2.12.1 which seems to be working fine with my Atheros wifi card. It was the 20181026 version that was causing the problem, and there have been two newer versions released since then. If you haven't attempted to update to the latest version in a while, I think it's been fixed. At least, on my system.

I can can confirm that the latest firmware & kernel updates fixed the problem, at least for my Dell XPS 13 9370.
