Thread: I need to do a CLEAN install.

  1. #1

Cool I need to do a CLEAN install.

I was enjoying fooling around with 15 when I broke something. Web login keeps saying I need to tell it a secret?! I have tried what I expected to be a CLEAN install but stuff from the previous install is still there preventing web connection. I am at the point of considering re-installing windows, which will clear the space used by Linux and then re-installing Linux. Is there a better way?

We can not read your mind, thus we do not know what you "expected to be a clean install". Nor what you did. When you do not give more precise information, asking for help is rather futile.

What purpose do you see that reinstalling Windows would serve? Sure, it
overwrites the Linux install, but you can achieve the same end by just
reformatting the drive and doing a clean installation.

But given the issue you're having, it might be better to troubleshoot
that - there's no need, every time you run into a problem you can't
solve, to reinstall the operating system from scratch.

Provide a better description of the problem you are having, and the
community will likely be able to assist you with it.

You obviously did not do a "clean" install. Since, as pointed out above, we were looking the other way when you did that, we have no idea what you really did, so how about telling us exactly what you did do and how?

Sorry, I screwed up. Spent some time on it and figured it out. All is OK now.

So, typical UNIX® (and therefore Linux as well as and also … ): even if someone “fools about with it”, it doesn't break …
And, it's usually possible to repair it without having to re-install it …
