Default Customization problem with VMware for OpenSuse 15 64 bit

    Hi.

We can customize OpenSuse 42 64 bit with VMware (version 6.7) but can't do it with OpenSuse 15 64 bit.
According to logs VMware Tools look for file /etc/issue. This file was made identical to OpenSUSE 42.

    Logs on 42 show:
    - looking to /etc/issue
    - see that it is SUSE
    - customizing

    Logs on 15 show:
    - looking to /etc/issue
    - don't understand what it is
    - not customizing

/etc/issue were made identical. Didn't help. Logs don't show any other interesting information. Other things are the same for both 42 and 15.

    Hi
More likely the version of VMware doesn't have customization support
for the later versions of openSUSE, just select the default linux (or
SUSE) and configure as require. Else you would need to update your
    version of VMware.

    Inspecting VMware's Compatibility Matrix,
    I don't see any references to SUSE/openSUSE 15.

You may need to contact VMware to see how they do Customization, if they reference the SUSE/openSUSE version specifically, then I can see how there might be a problem.

The two Compatibility Matrix tools I used... Since you didn't specify any details about your software and platform, I just plugged in a few common parameters I might use.

More on Customization requirements... You probably shouldn't have any problems

VMware Tools should be installed automatically if your original install was in a VM, but if you installed on a physical machine and then did a P2V, you might have to verify Tools is installed and working properly. If you need more info on Tools,
