Default How to know maintenance schedule for software.opensuse.org?

    Hello,

This website is really useful for me always.

I find the website of software.opensuse.org gets maintenance on weekends two times including right now. May I ask how and where can I get the maintenance information for this website or other OpenSUSE's websites? Thank you.

https://status.opensuse.org/ seems to can only show the servers are working well.

I don't think there's a particular schedule. Updates are made available when they are ready.

If you follow a particular bug report, you will see its progress. But, even then, it is hard to know exactly when the update will be available.

I just make my own schedule. I run updates twice a week. If there aren't any at that time, I wait till my next update time. It is rare that an update is so urgent that it cannot wait for a day or three.

I am not sure if you mean "when it gets updated", or that you mean when there is maintenance on the systems so they are unavailable.

In the first case, see nrickert's answer.

In the second case, that will not happen very often. And it is normally announced e.g. here in the forums in the News & Announcement section.

I am not aware of any systems being in maintenance at the moment. Thus when you experience otherwise, please come and tell details why you think so. In that case we can try to find out what your problem is.

    Because it says:

Sorry, the page you are looking for is currently down for maintenance.

    Ah, thanks. those are facts!

Maybe they have some problem. I will try if I can find out more, but it is weekend

And to the OP: this is NOT happening every weekend because it is scheduled like that.

Even openSUSE sites need maintenance, once in a while

My educated guess is that the infra guys are replacing the rsync.opensuse.org host that died lately.

... but, of course, the rest of us noticed that the OP mentioned that very thing in the very first post.
