    Default Problems with KDEConnect

I am trying to use KDEConnect to allow file transfer between my Android tablet running Oreo 8.1 and TW. They devices pair OK but I am unable to open the device using Dolphin, when I click on it eventually I get a message about being unable to mount. However when I send a file from the tablet to TW it appears exactly as it should in the correct folder on TW. TW is up to date btw.

Anyone else seeing this please? Could it be something to do with Oreo 8.1 of Android? KdeConnect on Android is 1.8.4.

Hmmm, doesn't work properly here too. One moment I can create a folder, remove it, the next dolphin hangs completely. I'd report a bug

I think it might be an oreo issue
it's working fine here for me under LEAP 15.0 and 2 kitkat devices
I do believe on android 6+ you need to give write privilege to the kdeconnect-android app from within android settings I remember doing this when I had CM 13 installed that was one of the reasons I went back to stock kitkat

Yes I had an idea it might be a problem with permissions on the app itself and indeed it was. Somehow it had no permission at all so having added the correct ones I can now access the folders OK from Dolphin. So yes user error!

Good to read of finding the definitive cause with device permissions. It may help others who come searching.

I'm pretty sure it's a permission issue I had problems downloading with Firefox on the internal storage which was always writable I had to go in android settings search for Firefox and give it write permission as I'm currently using the ancient android 4.4 I have no problems creating files and folders with Dolphin
I think this google page gives more info (as I said it's for android 6 and up)

    Code:
For apps installed on your device
    1. On your device, open the main Settings app .
    2. Tap Apps or Application Manager (depending on your device, this may look different).
    3. Tap the app you want to update.
    4. Tap Permissions.
    5. Turn permissions on or off.
