Default Flashforge 3d printer software flashprint for opensuse leap 15

I have a flashforge inventor 3d printer and looking for flashprint software for it. All I can find is deb file. I have tried alien to convert it but keeps failing. Any help with locating source code would be great.

    Hi
In the deb file if you extract the data.tar.xz file you can manually
install the udev file, desktop, icon and /usr/share/FlashPrint
    directory onto your system?

Looks like this software is not FOSS the way we define

    https://groups.google.com/forum/m/#!...ge/IFfm5i-e83Q

You may want to re-evaluate using software which is not FOSS, since a few search hits suggest that Maker drivers and software might be good replacements.

This is the Downloads page, looks like they built some Win packages this year.
Recommend you contact them (email and more bottom of page) for Linux packages

    https://groups.google.com/forum/m/#!...ge/IFfm5i-e83Q

    As Malcom suggests,
If you take apart the DEB package, you might be able to manually place each file in the location openSUSE expects.

    Hi
I tested just the binary as a user, worked fine, it could be packaged
as an rpm for locally rebuilding. I could also do that on OBS as a
nosrc package (as in end user provides the data.tar.xz file).

Red face Re: Flashforge 3d printer software flashprint for opensuse leap 15

Wonderful thanks everyone. My son and I had found the program files in data.tar.xz file, but was unsure as to getting the correct drivers needed for the printer. I mainly use Simplify3d, but it will not connect to my printer with USB. Only flashprint connects with USB. Another problem I have with this machine. Im running it on an 2010 IMac, and OSX will not connect or OpenSUSE will not connect as well. But at lease I can get flashprint to connect that would be great...

    Hi
So in a nutshell, just follow the directory structure and pop the files
in the relevant directories, for example the udev file
    in /etc/udev/rules.d.

    I wouldn't worry about the /usr/share/doc directory.

Then either via the desktop file, or if you open a terminal and as root
    user create a softlink;
    Code:
    su -
    ln -s /usr/share/FlashPrint/FlashPrint /usr/bin/FlashPrint
    exit
Then you can run FlashPrint as your user via a terminal by typing
    the command FlashPrint

    I'm running on Tumbleweed.

When I bring up FlashPrint brings up a window with the normal title bar and menu bar but the rest of the window is empty; no icons or print bed display.

Running from a terminal shows no errors, nor does journalctl or /var/log/messages.

Where are you getting your Flashprint software?
If from an openSUSE repo, Malcolm(or someone else) may need to update it.

Looks like most recent from Flashforge is Dec 3, 2018 as of today

It's version 3.25.1 which is the latest from flashforge. https://software.opensuse.org shows no version of Flashprint for any version of openSUSE.

I installed it by extracting the .deb file and moving the various files as described above. I also tried dpkg -i which complained about a missing /usr/share/debconf/confmodule.

    Hi
    And your device is one listed in the udev rules file, you can see it present from the output of;

    Code:
    usb-devices
When you added the rule file, did you rebot, or run the command udevadm trigger and then plug in the device?
