CUPS prints too dark

How do I set the print density on my printer?

Thanks in advance.

It took a while but here is how in case anyone is interested.

In your browser go to http://localhost:631
Select Administration
Under the heading “Printers” select Manage Printers
Click on your printer
Click on Administration and then on Set Default Options
Click on Adjustment
Set the number you want and click on Set Default Options
Enter “root” and its password.

I really don’t like CUPS. Too complicated for me.

I’m not sure what you find so complicated, but apart from the native CUPS web interface, you can set options with ‘system-config-printer’ GUI, or if using KDE there is also SystemSettings > Hardware > Printers which can be used to configure the default options as well. Comparable to that provided by any other OS IMHO.

Thank you for pointing me to ‘system-config-printer’. It’s much easier to use. Xfce uses CUPS in its System Settings.
