    A bit more info, crash/log out happens when i try to open an app from GUI. Happens regardless of the app and there is still no pattern in the terms of how many times other apps have been opened before the last log out.

    It could be an issue with your hardware. But the most likely explanation is that you have some library coming from the wrong repo and resulting in an inconsistency.

    Can you post the output from

    Code:
    zypper lr -d
    Post it with code tags. You can generate the code tags with the "#" icon near the top of the edit box.
    openSUSE Leap 15.1; KDE Plasma 5;

    I've tried switching to Tumbleweed today to see if problem persists and unfortunately it does. Please close the thread, I'll just go back to 42.3

    No, we don't usually close threads here.

    Can you share your graphics hardware details?
    Code:
    /usr/sbin/hwinfo --gfxcard

    Occasionally seen this here too, while testing with boot parameters. A single logout, login screen appears, everything apparently normal after the second login.
    My wild guess, Wayland session might be involved. Maybe logging in as "Gnome on X" helps.

    (Clean Leap 15 Gnome install, no fancy drivers, never had problems on this laptop)
    Main: Leap 15 Gnome on i7 4720HQ + Geforce GTX960M
    Test: Leap 42.3 (& others) on Core2Duo + GM965
