Default Kmail does not display messages with latest kde

Because of a problem trying to install Autokey on Leap 15 (see https://forums.opensuse.org/showthre...p-api-mismatch) I tried updating KDE to the latest version (from https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:KDE_repositories). After this kmail no longer displays messages, just a white blank in both the preview pane and when the message is opened. The text of the message displays in a reply composer window and in the message source.

Starting kmail or kontact in terminal I get this whenever I select a message:

    Code:
    [
1 : "Uncaught ReferenceError: qt is not defined"
1 : "Uncaught ReferenceError: qt is not defined"

    Plasma: 5.12.90
    Frameworks: 5.46.0
    Qt: 5.11.0
    Kmail: 5.7.3

Anyone else seen this problem? Any advice for fixing? It seems there is a bug report for this already: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394885 and here https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/57700. It seems the problem is with qt.

Nope . Fixed this by installing kde applications from the applications repo; should have known to do this first. Did a 'switch to versions in this repo' and now kmail works as expected.
