updates installed Tumbleweed in my Leap 42.3.

I just upgraded to Leap 42.3 a few days ago, and when I installed some updates today, Mar. 9, 2018, suddenly I had Tumbleweed!

I am now logged in with a snapshot, so 42.3 is working fine for the moment. How do I go back to 42.3? Can I make the snapshot permanent? Or undo the “updates”? Or what?

I am not interested in the latest (Tumbleweed), I just want to be able to get work done.

Boot into snapshot, use “snapper rollback”.

How exactly do you determine that you “have Tumbleweed”?

And please post your Repo list:

zypper lr -d

Because you can not get an Tumbleweed Repo without Interaction.

How did I determine that I “had Tumbleweed”? The boot screen said so, and the login screen was completely different, logging into the workgroup instead of Opensuse. The application icons were different, and Libre Office crashed when I tried to use it.

I probably should have been suspicious when there were more than a thousand updates, but i had just installed TexLive, with its thousands of files.

snapper rollback looks like what I am looking for. Any options that you recommend?

Thanks for the help.

Any Questions?

And please use Code-Tags.

When you asked for the repo list, I looked at the list and saw that the one that you have identified was different from the rest. I have no idea why I would have installed it, except perhaps in response to a list of missing items in my installation of TexLive, but maybe it was just some other mistake on my part.

Thank you again. As soon as I use snapper, I shall remove that depository.

Do you have any advice on snapper options? Perhaps I don’t need to use any.

Could happen from a one-click install. Also, if in your search and installs you accidentally chose the TW/Factory version instead of the 42.3 version of an item.

I am very grateful to all who answered my plea for help.

I used sudo snapper rollback to eliminate my problem, and deleted the offending repository to avoid a repetition. I’ll be more careful with 1-click installs, and also examine future updates to see if they make sense (and if there are 1037 of them, I will be very, very suspicious).

You are very welcome! We all enjoy helping new people with our pride and joy Operating System.

Glad to have you on board.
